Carcanet Press, one of the UK’s outstanding independent literary publishers, seeks an enthusiastic and well-organised Sales and Marketing Assistant to join its small and dedicated team.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain an introduction to the publishing industry. Based within Carcanet’s busy Manchester city centre office, the role will involve contributing to all aspects of our sales, marketing and publicity operation. Full training will be provided.

The successful applicant’s key qualities will be creativity, efficiency and an enthusiasm for and basic knowledge of literature (poetry in particular). Educated to degree level, he or she will have excellent written and oral communication skills and a meticulous eye for detail. Great IT skills are vital. Experience of maintaining a website and an interest in online marketing would also be an asset.

The closing date for applications is Friday 16th July 2010. Interviews will be held during the week commencing Monday 26th July 2010.
