Catering Job Opportunties at Calderstones Mansion House

The Reader Organisation can announce two new job vacancies at Calderstones Mansion House, Liverpool.

Bistro Supervisor

  • Salary: £7.50 per hour
  • Hours: 20 hours per week
  • Duration: Fixed-term 12 month contract

The individual will be responsible for supervising volunteers and apprentices whilst maintaining high levels of service. You will be working as part of a team as we transform Calderstones Mansion House into an International Centre for Reading and Wellbeing. The bistro will be an essential part of this as it will be our face for the general public; it will be focused on healthy, homemade cooking and bringing together the community. This is a challenging role with lots of room for personal development.

This role requires an experienced individual who is comfortable supervising others whilst working as part of a team and overseeing events in the Mansion House. We are looking for someone who is caring, patient and reliable with a strong work ethic. You will have a strong desire to work for an organisation with strong ethics. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to learn new skills and develop personally. Personal development is the foundation of our plans for the bistro and you will be expected to aid the personal development of the other staff around you.You will supervise volunteers, apprentices and other staff members, prepare and present food and drink to a high standard (training provided), ensure high standards of customer service and maintain the reputation of the organisation in dealings with the public.

Chef

  • Salary: £15,000 per annum
  • Hours: 38 hours per week
  • Duration: Fixed-term 12 month contract

The successful applicant will be joining our team at Calderstones Mansion House to place a focus on healthy eating, homemade food and using locally sourced produce which will change seasonally within the bistro. The role will appeal to those with the desire to work within an ethically minded organisation which cares about and invests in its employees. The right individual will be looking for a new challenge or will be aiming to take the next step in their career.

This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who has a creative flair and passion for healthy food. You will be working with a small team which will be a mixture of volunteers, apprentices and paid staff to produce the dishes from the menu and provide catering for events within the Mansion House. It will be a challenging role with lots of focus on personal development and growth.  The successful candidate must be passionate about educating other members of the team. You will develop a menu that changes seasonally with a focus on health and sharing, supervise and help develop other members of staff and maintain high levels of hygiene and safety.
