‘And Yet the Books’, Reading in Library & Community Settings
Wednesday 22nd January, 10am-4pm
Central London
And yet the books will be there on the shelves, separate beings,
That appeared once, still wet
As shining chestnuts under a tree in autumn,
And, touched, coddled, began to live
In spite of fires on the horizon, castles blown up,
Tribes on the march, planets in motion. And Yet the Books, Czeslaw Milosz
Join Helen Wilson to discuss all aspects of shared reading in library and community settings, from publicity and techniques for recruitment to group dynamics and ‘going deeper’ in sessions.
Places on this Masterclass are free within your first year of Ongoing Learning; otherwise they cost £45.
What is a Masterclass?
These special sessions are the main component of The Reader Organisation’s ongoing learning provision, along with access to the Shared Reading Hub and subscription to The Reader magazine. They are exclusively for those who have completed the Read to Lead course and wish to improve their practice as a facilitator and deepen their understanding as a reader.
How much does it cost?
All Masterclasses are FREE for the first 12 months following the completion of Read to Lead. Otherwise, places on a full-day Masterclass cost £45 and places on a half-day Masterclass cost £25.
Please Note: Masterclass spaces that are reserved but not subsequently attended will incur a charge of £45. Written notice is required at least one week in advance if you are no longer able to take up your reserved space.
