We envisage a world in which everyone has access to literature, and in which personal responses to books are freely shared in reading communities in every area of life.
The Reader Organisation’s business aims are to:
- Grow Get Into Reading, our pioneering shared reading project
- Create a national culture of shared reading
- Work with one or more Councils as partners to transform a library service, modelling libraries as centres of community and personal learning
- Build a strong and flexible organisation based on our ethos and values
Our Reading Revolution reaches some of the most vulnerable and excluded people in society, including prisoners and people in secure forensic psychiatric settings, children in care or excluded from school, and people suffering dementia and severe depression; as well as company employees, library users, students, parents, people entering retirement and those at risk of isolation.
